Sangeet's Numerology Update For November 2016

My Dearest Friends and Family,

We've reached the stage in this rocky 9-Cycle Year where we must focus all our power in prayer. As Yogi Bhajan often said, “Prayer is the power.”

So all that we do this month is to generate our call to the heavens for the highest support, along with our stated acceptance that we will accept all outcomes as Divinely-driven.

Take that focus into your personal life. All things that come, whether you like them or not, whether they fulfill your requests or not, are sent by the Divine for your soul's growth. Do this and you will learn huge lessons even though you may not know what those lessons are.

Meditation

The quintessential meditation all this month is “Ardas Bhaee” which can be done for 11 minutes, 22 or 61. You can chant along with it while driving (with eyes open of course!) We're chanting it for 2-1/2 hours on Nov. 16th at our Master Meditation at my home. Over the years many have set this mantra to music. A very beautiful one is by Nirinjan Kaur Khalsa from her CD From Within (available from SpiritVoyage.com, Last.fm, Spotify.com, Pandora.com).

Pranayam (breath technique)

While almost any yogic breathing technique will put you in a prayerful state, focus this month on the form of segmented breathing that uses 4-parts inhale and 4-parts exhale.

It's called “4 to 4” breath and is simple to do. Use four “sniff breaths” for the inhale and four “sniff breaths” for the exhale while vibrating mentally the karma-clearning mantra sounds of “Saa-Taa-Naa-Maa”, one syllable per sniff.

Here is how to do it.

(Click picture to enlarge.)Asana and Mudra: Sit in “Easy Pose” with hands in “Gyan Mudra.” Keep your back straight and apply “Neck Lock” (pull chin back slightly). This can also be done sitting in a chair and keeping your back straight.

Pranayam and Mantra: Begin with the first inhale sniff while mentally chanting “Saa”, with the second inhale sniff mentally chant “Taa”, with the third inhale sniff mentally chant “Naa” and with the fourth inhale sniff mentally chant “Maa.” With this last inhale, your lungs should be as close as possible to full.

Without pausing to hold a breath, immediately begin with the first exhale sniff while mentally chanting “Saa”, then the second exhale sniff mentally chant “Taa”, then the third exhale sniff mentally chant “Naa” and then with the fourth exhale sniff mentally chant “Maa.” Your lungs should now feel empty.

Continue repeating this inhale-while-chanting /exhale-while-chanting cycle for a minimum of 3 minutes and work up to a maximum of 11 minutes.

To End: Take a deep inhale, hold for 5 seconds, and then a deep exhale. Repeat two more times. Sit quietly for a minute or two. Notice you are much more emotionally balanced and mentally clear. Remember this simple pranayam and use it each time you feel stressed, emotionally unbalanced or mentally foggy.
