Meditation on RAMA -Balancing Sun & Moon Energies (Complete Practice)
Please Note: This version of the video begins with Sangeet "Tuning In" with the "Adi Mantra", followed by the "RAMA" meditation (about 11 minutes) and concludes with the "Longtime Sunshine" song.
TAP for the “Meditation Only” Version of this Video
This is a great meditation for any time when energies are unbalanced and communications stuck and full of mis-understanding.
A classic meditation given by Kundalini Master Yogi Bhajan, the “RA-A-MA-A” or Meditation on RAMA balances the sun and moon energies in us and between us, enabling us to greatly improve our communications. This also helps to balance the flow between male and female energies, represented by the sun (male) and moon (female).
There are two versions of this video -“Complete Practice” and “Meditation Only”.
The “Complete Practice” version is at the top of this page and is intended to be used as a complete self-contained Kundalini Yoga practice since it begins with “Tuning In”, followed by the “RAMA” meditation, and then concludes with the “Longtime Sunshine Song.”
The “Meditation Only” version is just the RAMA meditation for 11 minutes. It is useful for adding to your existing practice since you will have started it with "Tuning In” (the "Adi Mantra”) and finished it up with the “Longtime Sunshine” song.
Chant this wonderful meditation for 11 minutes each day by yourself or with others joining you.
Do this meditation daily for 40 days and witness the peaceful power that clears mis-communication.
The instructions for doing this meditation are simple:
Asana: Sit on the floor in Easy Pose (legs crossed, hands resting on knees in Gyan Mudra or in lap) or sit in a chair (with hands resting on thighs in Gyan Mudra or in lap) and do you best to keep a straight spine.
Drishti: Eyes focus on the Third Eye (the brow point).
Mantra: RA-A-MA-A.
1. Sitting in Easy Pose or a chair, chant the Adi Mantra (the “Tuning In” mantra) three times.
2. Chant the RAMA mantra for 11 minutes, setting a pace of about 4 seconds for each recitation. Be careful not to run the sounds together – keep the RA-A-MA-A syllables distinct and separate.
3. When the meditation has finished, powerfully and deeply inhale, hold for 10-15 seconds, powerfully and deeply exhale. Repeat inhale-hold-exhale twice more. Then sit quietly and feel the vibrations of the mantra in you and around you.
4. Finish by singing the “Longtime Sunshine” song followed by three “Long Sat Nams.”
