Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends, Sat Nam!

This is a great meditation when to do urgencies arise or when you feel pressing needs that you do not know how to address. Surely these times call for such a magnificent chant!

You can chant it for 11 minutes or as long as you feel prompted – 3, 11, 22, 31 minutes or longer. You can use it for a number of days, weeks or months. If you do it in an extended way it will work on many issues, including working on matters you do not even know are important to you and your soul.

Two great Spiritual Masters go to work on delivering what is best for you or for the person for whom you are praying. Worries can disappear. No need to exert effort – just chant. Over time, using this mantra for numerous needs, you come to trust that all outcomes it brings are Divinely directed.
You may see the outcome you wanted materialize or perhaps something entirely different that represents a higher gift.

This mantra-prayer, as Kundalini Yoga Master Yogi Bhajan called it when he gave it to us, is “the prayer that answers all prayers.” That includes prayers you do not even know to pray!

It brings both a promise and a guarantee from two great Masters/Gurus in the 16th Century Sikh lineage – Guru Amar Das whose generosity and caring service made him known as “the hope of the hopeless,” and Guru Ram Das, the “Lord of Miracles” and king of the yogis, who guarantees that this prayer is already being delivered.

The instructions for doing this meditation are simple:

Asana: Sit on the floor in Easy Pose (legs crossed, hands resting on knees in Gyan Mudra or in lap) or sit in a chair (with hands resting on thighs in Gyan Mudra or in lap) and do your best to keep a straight spine and feet flat on the floor.

Drishti and Pranayam: Ideally the eyes are focused on the tip of the nose throughout. They can also be closed and rolled up to the Third Eye Point. The breath will adjust itself as you chant.

Mudra: Relax your upper arms by the sides of your rib cage and bring the hands up to the level of the heart. Interlace the fingers with a grip somewhat tighter than normal. [Note: For ladies interlace the fingers so that the left thumb rests on top of the right thumb. For men this is reversed, with the right thumb on top of the left.]

Mantra

Ardas Bhaee
Amar Das Guru
Amar Das Guru
Ardas Bhaee

Ram Das Guru
Ram Das Guru
Ram Das Guru
Sachee Sahee

Translation

I was blessed to be present when Yogi Bhajan introduced this mantra as a chant at a White Tantric Yoga Course in New York City in the early 1980s and I remember clearly his translation.

The first line of the first verse literally means “Prayer is granted!” and he told us we have that assurance from Guru Amar Das. The second verse attests to the fact that Guru Ram Das puts his stamp of approval on it – and Yogi ji planted his right fist emphatically in his open left palm much as one would stamp some important document.

Here's How To Do It:

1. Sitting in Easy Pose or a chair, chant the Adi Mantra (the Tuning In mantra) three times.

2. Chant the “Ardas Bhaee” meditation with this recording, a CD, or a capella in a monotone. Put your heart into it!

3. When the meditation has finished, powerfully and deeply inhale while raising arms above your head, and hold for 10-15 seconds. Powerfully and deeply exhale. Repeat inhale-hold-exhale once more with raised arms. Then lower your arms to your lap/knees and sit quietly. Feel the vibrations of the mantra in you and around you.

4. Finish by singing the “Longtime Sunshine” song followed by a Long Sat Nam.

My prayer for all of you you is that you use this chant regularly and allow it to lighten your life!

Compatibility and Support Information for Computers / Smart Phone / Tablets

Please note that on some computers, phones and tablets the video can take up to 60 seconds to start (it is buffering the video stream).

Video support for mobile devices ("smart" phones and tablets) is often iffy because they use the newer and currently less compatible "HTML5" video instead of Flash.

Desktop/laptop computers (Windows, Mac and Linux) work best because they come with Adobe Flash Player. Please check that you have a very recent version of Flash. Video support for mobile devices, however, is often iffy. Mac users often have problems with the built-in browser "Safari". Install Google's "Chrome" browser or Mozilla's "Firefox" browser and use either one of those instead. (The difference between those two mostly has to do with privacy -with Chrome, being from Google, you surrender all your privacy [same as using Safari] and Firefox, being from the Mozilla Foundation, you retain much of your privacy.)

Android Smart Phone and Tablet users -In the recent versions of Andriod the built-in browser is called "Chrome." It is most compatible and usually works very well. If the video is not playing correctly, then there is not really anything that can be done other than try a desktop computer if one is nearby -that may work better for you.

Firefox-for-Andriod (free and found in the Google Play store) usually works well. We personally use Firefox-for-Android on our Android devices rather than the built-in brower (for a number of reasons including better privacy and also better compatibility with HTML 5 video). So you might want to give it a try!

iPads and iPhones purchased within the past year or so usually work fine with the video. Older versions often struggle to keep a reliable video connection and there really isn't a way to fix it.

In general, though, if the video stops and there is just a black box without a big "Play" button in the middle of it, "refreshing" your browser usually re-starts the video. Unfortunately, interruptions during live broadcasts are usually unavoidable. However, with the new cutting-edge technology we're using in 2016 combined with you using a computer / smart phone / tablet less than 2 years old can minimized interruptions and in some cases avoid them all together. It is just the nature of this young technology, but it will improve in the coming years.

Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends, Sat Nam!

Tonight's meditation is a GREAT meditation to do when your prayers really need to work for you. Doing this, you become your prayer. Your radiance of compassion and heart-centered presence truly work on your behalf!

“Isht” is the concrete realization of God. “Sodhana” purifies or straightens you out so that you have the concrete realization of you, the God, the Divine.

The three phrases you chant describe and awaken your Divine place in the Universe as an infinite soul in a finite form, living on finite Earth. It brings the Earth and the Heavens together with the compassionate heart center of the great “master of miracles” Guru Ram Das. Described below, the visualizations and hand/arm movements deeply activate your enlightened self-realization.

Yogi Bhajan loved this mantra. He told us

“My dear ones, you want your prayers to be effective.

You want your ultimate destiny to manifest.

This kriya can do it.

I know there are thousands of kriyas that we do, but it just takes one done well and this is the one for isht sodhana to manifest.”

The form of this chant is both a declaration and a salutation (as in “I salute”) and the realization of Divine Self emerges.

This meditation can also give you the frequency to manifest your intentions, directed by your intuition as a sadhu. To obtain such a power (classically known as a Siddhi), do the meditation at sunset for 31 minutes for 40, 90, 120 days.

The instructions for doing this meditation are simple:

Asana: Sit on the floor in Easy Pose (legs crossed, hands resting on knees in Gyan Mudra or in lap) or sit in a chair (with hands resting on thighs in Gyan Mudra or in lap) and do your best to keep a straight spine.

Drishti and Pranayam: Eyes focus on the tip of the nose throughout. Let the breath adjust itself as you chant.

Mantra: Note -the word Hai is pronounced heh

Dharti Hai
Akash Hai
Guru Ram Das Hai

Translation:

Earth Is!
The Heavens Are!
Guru Ram Das Is!

isht sodhana mantra kriya meditation 3 photo montage hand movements 566x300Visualization and Arm Movements:

Dharti Hai  Visualize from your navel down a soft gray blanket, the dust of the Earth on which the feet of saints have walked. Your arms and hands are straight, angled downward by your sides.

Akash Hai  See from your eyebrows up the bright rich blue of the Heavens, vast and unlimited. Your arms and hands sweep upward to 60 degrees, palms facing each other.

Guru Ram Das Hai  Bend your arms and bring them inward to fold hands over your heart, with the left hand under. Visualize and bask in the great white light of this compassionate master, Guru Ram Das. Let that light penetrate both the gray and the blue.

While doing this, hold the visualization of all aspects – the gray, the blue and the pure white light. Immerse yourself in the chant.

isht sodhana mantra kriya meditation easy pose 227x300Optional Mudra: While this series of moving mudras was taught originally at a Summer Solstice Yoga Festival as directed by Yogi Bhajan, it has also been given with Gyan Mudra, hands resting on the knees with the tips of both thumbs and index fingers touching in little circles.

Here's How To Do It:

1. Sitting in Easy Pose or a chair, chant the Adi Mantra (the Tuning In mantra) three times.

2. Chant the mantra setting a pace of about 12 seconds for each recitation. (Visualization and arm movements are described above.)

3. When the meditation has finished, powerfully and deeply inhale while raising arms above your head, and hold for 10-15 seconds. Powerfully and deeply exhale.

Repeat inhale-hold-exhale once more with raised arms. Then lower your arms to your lap/knees and sit quietly.

Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends, Sat Nam!

Tonight is a very special meditation. Tonight we unlock the power of the “six sacred sounds” that manifest cosmic protection for us at this Great Time of Turning in the cycles of planet Earth. These frequencies are unshakable and immutable.

The Mantra is “Har Haray Haree Wahe Guru.”

Kundalini Yoga Master Yogi Bhajan told us these six sounds cover us in all six directions – four sides and up and down. This establishes and resonates cosmic frequencies to which Universe, the Cosmos, must respond. It establishes in the one who chants it an undeniable presence of command. These frequencies will carry us through all calamity.

Yogi Bhajan said of this mantra:

“When there comes a moment in your life when nothing works, if all shelter and hope is gone, when the enemies overcome and friends have left, do this meditation.

The sound current has an Infinite power. It is the only power that is given to the human to excel. Vaak Siddhi is the perfection of the sound projection.

Guru Nanak explained it, ‘Through the mouth you utter a sound current, to which God listens with love.’

What you say is not a sound current. The sound current is that which you create with the organic matter of your body where you use your pranas and that has a projective power.”

In other words, this chant establishes in the one who chants it an undeniable presence of command.

Carry this chant on for 40 days, for 11 minutes a day, and experience a new sense of unperturable strength and calm.

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either in Easy Pose on your yoga mat or comfortably in a chair. Hands are in Gyan Mudra or resting in your lap.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breathing will adjust itself to the chant.

Eyes are closed and and focused on the Third Eye Point.

Mantra:

 Har Haray Haree, Wahe Guru

Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends, Sat Nam!

Join us tonight in striking a new balance and peace around our world with this 2-1/2 hour chanted meditation.

A vegan meal follows.

At this time each month (the 17th) the planetary energies open to allow our work to carry around the planet for a significant impact.

This evening we will be chanting the “Akhan Jor” meditation, a verse in the larger Japji prayer by Guru Nanak that devotees chant daily around the world.

With the world going through a major shift in consciousness now through September 21st, this verse calls on us to put aside our ego and its false attachments, and to live in utter trust that the Divine is and will come through for us. The words quite literally describe that we have no power to live, to die, to be free or to do anything; that in fact all powers belong to God.

As the Master, Yogi Bhajan, has said, reciting this “brings home your divinity. It removes negativity, neutralizes your destructive nature and prevents harm to others by your hand.”

This evening meditation will elevate you beyond all measure. Come participate and make a difference in this world!

Supporting our chanting tonight will be a beautiful musical arrangement originally created by sacred kirtan artist Sirgun Kaur Khalsa for one of our Womanheart(R) Retreats a few years ago. It is available on her CD “The Cosmic Gift.”

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either in Easy Pose on your yoga mat or comfortably in a chair. Hands are in Gyan Mudra.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breathing will adjust itself to the chant.

Eyes are closed and relaxed.

Mantra:

 Aakhan jor, Chupai neh jor,
Jor na mangan dayn na jor
Jor na jeevan maran neh jor
Jor na raaj maal man sor
Jor na surtee giaan vechaar
Jor na jugatee chutai sansaar
Jis hath jor kar vekhai so-i
Nanak utam neech na ko-i

Translation:

No power to speak, no power to keep silent.
No power to beg, no power to give.
No power to live, no power to die.
No power to rule, with wealth and occult mental powers.
No power to gain intuitive understanding, to contemplate spiritual wisdom.
No power to find the way to escape from the world.
He alone has the Power in his hands, he watches over all.
O Nanak, no one is high or low.

Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends,

Based on the Planetary Numerology which Sangeet teaches, July is the month for building your prosperity! It's an 8 month which builds on the 17/8 gift of this whole year, bringing both financial and spiritual good fortune.

So the mantra we will be chanting this evening is a true “power and prosperity meditation” given by the Master, Yogi Bhajan: the “Guru Gaitri Mantra with 4 Hars.

The 8 aspects of God celebrated in this mantra were given as a single mantra by the 10th Master in the Sikh lineage, Guru Gobind Singh, who was renowned as very regal and a mighty warrior who defended India against invading armies. Yogi Bhajan added the for Hars in each line for the added Shakti power of manifestation.

According to Yogi Bhajan:

“This mantra fixes the mind to prosperity and power. It contains the eight facets of Self. Har is the original force of Creativity. The four repetitions of Har give power to all aspects and provide the power to break down the barriers of the past. It converts fear into the determination to use and expand the reserve energy of the Navel Point. It invokes guidance and sustenance; all powers come to serve your true purpose.”

Often thought of as the meditation to help you keep up with the times, the Master went on to say:

“This mantra is to fix the mental to prosperity or power. It will produce money, it will come. Opportunities will come. Richness will come...When you chant this mantra with the breath of life, you tap into all the angels of the Universe, including your own great ancestors who have a qualifying life as an angel. It's quick, it's purposeful, and it brings in what you need to bring in.”

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either in Easy Pose on your yoga mat or comfortably in a chair. Cross your arms, right arm over left arm, and rest them against your chest. Each hand cups an elbow.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breath can be "sipped", the timing of the "sips" will happen automatically.

Roll your eyes up under closed lids and fixed at the Third Eye point.

Mantra:

Har Har Har Har Gobinday,
Har Har Har Har Mukunday
Har Har Har Har Udaaray
Har Har Har Har Apaaray
Har Har Har Har Hariang
Har Har Har Har Kariang
Har Har Har Har Nir-naamay
Har Har Har Har Akaamay

Translation:

Har - Infinite Divinity
Gobinday- Sustainer
Mukunday- Liberator
Udaaray- Enlightener
Apaaray- Infinite
Hariang- Destroyer
Kariang- Creator
Nir-naamay- Nameless
Akaamay- Desireless

How To Do This Meditation

While chanting this mantra, the navel is pulled back on each Har and on the first syllable of the key word that follows them – in other words, 5 pulls for each line. The arms are crossed right over left in a fixed but relaxed position against the body. Each hand cups an elbow. The eyes are rolled up under closed lids and fixed at the Third Eye position. Breath can be sipped as needed.

Dear Friends,

This latest installment of our monthly 2-1/2 hour meditations gives us the opportunity to expand consciousness and the state of compassion and love outward to heal this world.

Join us and tap into this special gift of creating a sacred sanctuary within ourselves with the “Sat Kartar” Meditation.

The work we do together on this date will magnify around the planet as compassionate consciousness sorely needs to be elevated at this time!

"Sat Kartar" is an expression that Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh Path, (which many of our Kundalini Yoga mantras have come from) would say when things would happen, good or bad.

His response was, "Sat Kartar!" basically affirming “God is the True Doer of all.”

This has also been said to reflect the pure nature within us all as “those who walk in truth.” When this mantra is repeated over time, we are expanding and building the energetic flow of the heart.

We will immerse ourselves in this heart-opening mantra with specific hand movements that invite the spread of heart energy. As these moves enhance our heart-felt power they serve to build protective strength around us as well as extend that unstoppable strength to others within our circle.

Our call is also heard by the Masters in the realm of Brahm Prakash, the 4th heavenly realm, so that with their guidance we can extend this energy around the planet.

This is precious, sacred work and we invite all to join us tonight!

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either in Easy Pose on your yoga mat or comfortably in a chair. Hands will be moving in a swimmers' "breast stroke like" motion. The motion is easier to learn watching tonight's live broadcast than describe in words.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breathing will adjust itself to the chant.

Eyes are closed and relaxed.

Mantra:

  Sat Kartar

Translation:

God is the True Doer of all.

Bless you in all ways, always,

Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends,

This latest adventure of our monthly 2-1/2 hour meditations focuses on the opportunity to expand our Limitless Self or “Sat Nam Identity.”

We will chant the “7 Wave Sat Nam Meditation” to expand our consciousness and elevating presence.

Join us and tap into this special gift of elevated consciousness. The work we do together on this date will magnify around the planet as consciousness sorely needs to be elevated at this time!

Kundalini Yoga Master Yogi Bhajan described the effects of this meditation when he taught it in June of 1979:

“Let us purify ourselves with truth; these are vibrations. The words are “Sat Nam”. Sat represents truth; Nam represents personified. It means the spirit of that creative God, the cosmos, stands personified through these vibrations... It is an electro-physical process through which this energy is made to circulate...

“You have seen the law of tides. The tide takes six coils, on the seventh coil it goes up and then it strikes and cleanses the shore, and goes back. This is the law of tides. If the vibrations can be created by this “bij (seed) mantra,” it will cleanse the body of negativity and the remainder will be positivity and that is a divine light. Fill in your lungs with this power of Divine...

“...Practice when you want to purify yourself and you want to project truth out of you. I am a humble instrument giving you a technique which is practical, and which can be proved.

“We know that one God has created everyone, and He is in everyone, and one master key can open all the locks of darkness and unawareness.”

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either on your yoga mat or in a chair. Hands are in "Prayer Pose" at your heart center.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breathing will adjust itself to the pulse we set with the chant.

Eyes are closed rolled up to the Third Eye Point

Mantra:

Sat (one long Sat in 6 pulses) followed by a short Nam

Translation:

Identity of Truth.
