Sangeet's Message About Tonight's Journey to Brahm Prakash Meditation

Dear Friends, Sat Nam!

Join us tonight in striking a new balance and peace around our world with this 2-1/2 hour chanted meditation.

A vegan meal follows.

At this time each month (the 17th) the planetary energies open to allow our work to carry around the planet for a significant impact.

This evening we will be chanting the “Akhan Jor” meditation, a verse in the larger Japji prayer by Guru Nanak that devotees chant daily around the world.

With the world going through a major shift in consciousness now through September 21st, this verse calls on us to put aside our ego and its false attachments, and to live in utter trust that the Divine is and will come through for us. The words quite literally describe that we have no power to live, to die, to be free or to do anything; that in fact all powers belong to God.

As the Master, Yogi Bhajan, has said, reciting this “brings home your divinity. It removes negativity, neutralizes your destructive nature and prevents harm to others by your hand.”

This evening meditation will elevate you beyond all measure. Come participate and make a difference in this world!

Supporting our chanting tonight will be a beautiful musical arrangement originally created by sacred kirtan artist Sirgun Kaur Khalsa for one of our Womanheart(R) Retreats a few years ago. It is available on her CD “The Cosmic Gift.”

Asana & Mudra:

Sit with a straight spine either in Easy Pose on your yoga mat or comfortably in a chair. Hands are in Gyan Mudra.

Pranayam & Drishti:

Breathing will adjust itself to the chant.

Eyes are closed and relaxed.

 Aakhan jor, Chupai neh jor,
Jor na mangan dayn na jor
Jor na jeevan maran neh jor
Jor na raaj maal man sor
Jor na surtee giaan vechaar
Jor na jugatee chutai sansaar
Jis hath jor kar vekhai so-i
Nanak utam neech na ko-i

No power to speak, no power to keep silent.
No power to beg, no power to give.
No power to live, no power to die.
No power to rule, with wealth and occult mental powers.
No power to gain intuitive understanding, to contemplate spiritual wisdom.
No power to find the way to escape from the world.
He alone has the Power in his hands, he watches over all.
O Nanak, no one is high or low.

If you can volunteer to help us set up about 4:30 pm please drop us a note via the “Contact Us” button at the top of this web page.

Bless you in all ways, always,

Compatibility and Support Information for Computers / Smart Phone / Tablets

Please note that on some computers, phones and tablets the video can take up to 60 seconds to start (it is buffering the video stream).

Video support for mobile devices ("smart" phones and tablets) is often iffy because they use the newer and currently less compatible "HTML5" video instead of Flash.

Desktop/laptop computers (Windows, Mac and Linux) work best because they come with Adobe Flash Player. Please check that you have a very recent version of Flash. Video support for mobile devices, however, is often iffy. Mac users often have problems with the built-in browser "Safari". Install Google's "Chrome" browser or Mozilla's "Firefox" browser and use either one of those instead. (The difference between those two mostly has to do with privacy -with Chrome, being from Google, you surrender all your privacy [same as using Safari] and Firefox, being from the Mozilla Foundation, you retain much of your privacy.)

Android Smart Phone and Tablet users -In the recent versions of Andriod the built-in browser is called "Chrome." It is most compatible and usually works very well. If the video is not playing correctly, then there is not really anything that can be done other than try a desktop computer if one is nearby -that may work better for you.

Firefox-for-Andriod (free and found in the Google Play store) usually works well. We personally use Firefox-for-Android on our Android devices rather than the built-in brower (for a number of reasons including better privacy and also better compatibility with HTML 5 video). So you might want to give it a try!

iPads and iPhones purchased within the past year or so usually work fine with the video. Older versions often struggle to keep a reliable video connection and there really isn't a way to fix it.

In general, though, if the video stops and there is just a black box without a big "Play" button in the middle of it, "refreshing" your browser usually re-starts the video. Unfortunately, interruptions during live broadcasts are usually unavoidable. However, with the new cutting-edge technology we're using in 2016 combined with you using a computer / smart phone / tablet less than 2 years old can minimized interruptions and in some cases avoid them all together. It is just the nature of this young technology, but it will improve in the coming years.
