Break-Through Breath

This is a specialized form of segmented breathing done to “break through” literally any emotional state in which someone may be stuck. It is also frequently used in re-educating someone away from addictive habits.

Break-through breath is a good opener to start a daily breathing practice, since it quickly flushes air through the lungs, charges the magnetic energy field around the body, and brings mental clarity with the supply of freshly oxygenated blood to the brain.

Tune In

 

 

 
     

 

2.

 

A. Sit in Easy Pose (or in a chair with feet flat on floor) and slowly inhale through your nose until lungs have completely filled and the rib cage is completely expanded. Keep abdomen relaxed, not pulled back.

B. Hold inhale and slowly count 1--2--3--4--5.

C. Forcefully exhale through the nose, letting your body collapse forward, head down toward the chest, shoulders slumped forward - see illustration to the right.

Repeat steps 2A - C a minimum of 4 times.

Do Long Deep Navel Breathing for 3 minutes.
