Womanheart® Family Slide Show 2003 |
TIPS for better viewing: First off, we'd like to thank you for taking an interest in this slide show. We had a lot of fun putting it together for you! It was tough to pick only 55 photos out of hundreds. We hope that in these 55 you will feel right there in the Retreat sharing it's warmth, joy, fun, and Spirit! Flash Your Computer! This slide show is a "Flash"-based show and requires the free "Flash" plugin to your web browser. 98% of all computers already have "Flash", so this shouldn't be a problem. However, if you need the free "Flash" plugin, click here. Are You Fast or Slow? If you have a "High Speed" internet connection such as DSL, Cable, or Satellite, then choose that option above to see the slide show. If you have a "Regular Connection" (sometimes called "Dial-up", "56K", or "Phone") then choose that option above to see the slide show. If you are using a slow computer, then the slide show will pause for a while at the start of the show while it is getting the music ready to play. On our really old testing computer this takes about a minute. Once the music starts playing, though, the show moves along at its proper pace. You won't hurt anything by trying either choice. The only difference between them is that the "DSL or CABLE" choice has larger photographs, the photographs and music are higher quality, and there are nice dissolves between the photographs. Now Where's That 'Pause' Button? It would be great if the slide show had "VCR" type controls so you could fast forward or rewind to your favorite picture. Unfortunately, "Flash" doesn't have those (yet). But there is a sort-of work around. At any time during the show, move the mouse pointer over a photograph and click the Right mouse button. A window will pop up similar to the two in the illustrations below. To Pause the show, click "Play" so that there is NO check mark to the left of "Play" (see left illustration). To Resume play of the show, click "Play" so that the check mark reappears (see right illustration). You can't hurt anything, so experiment! |

Making Beautiful Music Together! There is a wonderful story about the music in the show. The music is from a CD called "The Thunder of Silence - A Native American Flute Journey" by Saggio. In June of 1994 Saggio took Reiki training with Reiki Master-Trainer Sangeet Kaur Khalsa at The Healing Source. During the very sacred part of the training known as "the Attunements" Sangeet had a profound vision of a recent past life of his which she shared with him. Four years later "The Thunder of Silence" CD shows up in the mail with these words hand written inside: "Sangeet, four years ago while giving me my attunements you told me that I was an Indian warrior in two previous lives. Two weeks later I heard the sound of Native American flutes and so began my new and wondrous journey as a flute player. My life is changed for ever and I am blessed beyond words and thoughts. Listen to this music that poured through me and join me in joy and gratitude. One in Spirit, Saggio" Since then Saggio has created four more CDs and tours the country with his wife Barbara together giving concerts. To learn more about Saggio's concert schedule and to order his CDs, please visit his website at www.saggiohealingarts.com. To learn more about Reiki at The Healing Source, please email us using our Contact Us Page. Thank you. The Really Big Show: As you'll notice, the photographs in the slide shows do not fill the whole screen. Full screen shows with high resolution photos and music require very fast internet connections and computers which "most" people do not have yet. However, if you do have fast stuff, here is a nifty trick we do in the office to make the slide show the absolute biggest it can be. We've tried it successfully on Internet Explorer versions 5 and higher on Windows computers. It may work on other versions, and there may be a comparable feature on other brands of Internet browsers. Experiment! Please note that the tradeoff of making the slide show window big is that the transition between each photo slows down and may no longer be "smooth". The amount of "slow down" is determined by the speed of your computer and Internet connection. Some people actually like really s-l-o-w transitions -- it adds an "artsy" quality to the show. Below are the six easy steps to make the slide show fill your entire computer screen. Please read them first, then click on the link below. Enjoy! CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL SCREEN SLIDE SHOW 1. Start the slide show then fill your computer screen with the window by clicking "View" then "Full Screen" as shown in the illustration below. You can also use the keyboard shortcut "F11" - it does the same thing. |

2. The slide show window will now fill your entire monitor. Sometimes there will be a horizontal bar of "buttons" along the top of the window similar to the illustration below. If there isn't, great--skip ahead to step 5. If you have that bar, here is how to hide it. First, put your mouse pointer on it in an empty area like the illustration below. |

| 3. Right-click that bar, then click on "Auto Hide" (make sure it has a check mark). The "Auto Hide" feature will make that bar disappear in a few seconds. | |||||

5. Now sit back and enjoy the show with some friends and a bowl of popcorn! The show will last about five minutes and automatically repeat. 6. When you are ready to return the slide show window back to normal, just press "F11". That's it! A Final Note - We encourage everyone to please keep your Internet browser current with the most recent version available. For most people, this is a free download from the browser maker. By always keeping it current, websites can offer additional modern features which adds to your surfing experience. In web site design there is nothing worse than wanting to include something "modern" and "useful" but not being able to because of having to maintain compatibility with browsers from the last millennium. Errggg. Folks, please keep your browser current! 'Nuf said. |
