The Summer Solstice is the energetic high point of the year. For those of us who practice Kundalini Yoga, this is a time to purify our minds and bodies with yoga and meditation, and (if possible!) remove ourselves from the daily stresses of life. From June 17-28th, some 2,000 people from around the world will gather for the International Summer Solstice Festival in the Jemez mountains of Northern New Mexico to do just that. It is like living literally in a U.N. during this eight-day retreat, now approaching its 40th year. Whether you can join us in New Mexico or not, wherever you are on planet Earth you can take advantage of the benevolent and empowering effects of this important time by meditating on the evening of June 20th and the morning of the 21st. You can expand on that by doing light yoga and meditating once a day for 3-7 days leading up to the 21st and for the same length of time after that. My prayers for health, joy, prosperity and peace extend to all of you in our Healing Source family at this time! Bless you in all ways, always! Sangeet |
