May, 2004 To All Those Who Came to Live as the Grace of God |

Dear Friends, It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, and I was resting on the couch, enjoying my first day off in several weeks. Then came a knock at the door. A lady in the mid-fifties walked in, quaking with emotion, words bursting out of her in a frantic tumble: "So sorry to bother you. Do you have a copy of the breath you taught me years ago - something to deal with anxiety? I just need something to help me. Does the body have a memory? How can I stop this anxiety?" I hadn't seen her in two years or more and then only briefly at a yoga class. She is like a small bird that flies in occasionally on my patio, sips a little water from my fountain, and then is just as quickly gone. Now she has gone too far and let her life force dip too low. She knows it and thankfully remembered the tools of breath and meditation I had given her years before. We settled in on the couch and I taught her some of the breathing tools she needed. Her face brightened and a look of calm returned. She went home with a meditation CD and a self-promise to breathe and meditate daily. I see this situation repeated over and over among many of the women I know. Women leave themselves uncovered, often while helping others, then fail to see the warning signs of the downhill spiral and wait too long before taking corrective action. Please don't let this happen to you! Your single most important safeguard is a daily practice of yoga, breathwork and meditation. It doesn't have to be long. You can start with 20 minutes and accomplish a lot. Here are a few of the warning signs of a downhill spiral. First, your breathing rate speeds up and you feel rushed, out of control. Then you might find yourself speaking without thinking - this is one of several signs of a declining level of self-awareness. Your sleep may be affected, as the clutter of your unconscious mind spills over. You may even lose awareness of several moments of time, find yourself unable to concentrate on what others are saying. And so on and so on. Have you not experienced some of this? You need to rely on tools that keep you conscious, aware of both the inner landscape and the outer one, and free you from the mental clutter that can push you into reactive words and actions. You need to be in charge. To be in charge of any situation is first to be in charge of you. So where do you find these tools? Well, you can go to our website, click on the Womanheart tab, and then at the top of that page go into the "toolkit" section. You'll find beginning tools to help you. It's best when you can learn directly from a teacher. I am one of many teachers of Kundalini Yoga here in the Valley. Certainly you can go to my Tuesday night classes or meditation circles. If you want to really learn and experience yourself in that true higher state of consciousness, come to a Womanheart Retreat and watch your life grow over those four beautiful days. That's why I teach retreats - so women can experience who they really came to be - the Grace of God that sustains this planet. The Good Lord Who Made Us All wants to see all women this strong, so our children will experience strength from the womb on up, and our planet will see the Good, and the God, in countless forms. Then God will surely live in the hearts of mankind, and we shall return this Earth to the peaceful Eden it was meant to be. Bless you in all ways always, PS. Mark your calendar for Thursday, June 3rd and join me for a combined Full Moon Meditation for Everyone, my 65th Birthday Party, and my and Hari Nam's 2nd Wedding Anniversary! This wonderful evening starts at 6 p.m. and will end around 10 p.m. It will be held at my home. Please RSVP! |

To hear Sangeet's message, click on "RealAudio" or "WMA" above. "RealAudio" and "WMA" are different types of audio files. You can click on either one, it just depends on which sound player software your computer has. "RealAudio " requires a "RealOne" or "RealAudio" player (or compatible) and "WMA" requires a "Windows Media" player (or compatible). "RealAudio" tends to be a little more reliable and better sounding, while "WMA" (built into Windows) is more wide spread. You can't hurt anything by clicking on either one. If nothing happens or an error message pops up, then your computer doesn't have the appropriate software installed. If that is the case, you can get either one of the free players by clicking here. |
