Dear Friends, We are in a time of reassessment, examining old issues in the light of oncoming change and growth. Now we must reassess our notions of success and failure. Here's a vastly different take on this subject. As renowned yoga master teacher, Yogi Bhajan put it: "There is no failure. There is only 'Job not yet done.' And success is simply, 'Job done! On to the next'." Stop a moment and think over those words. No such thing as failure. All you have to do is finish the job.
Let me share with you a shinning example of success/no failure as it was lived by the noble dozen of us from Phoenix who went on a spiritual journey to the Golden Temple in India this past November. The highpoint was the two days we spent at a small temple in the village of Goindwal where we did a special ritual, one that is so very challenging that few ever attempt it, let alone finish it. The ritual is known as "the 84 steps of Goindwal." It entails descending a steep set of marble stairs to a large, cool well deep in the Earth to dip (in the midst of a cold windy winter!), then reciting a long chanted prayer in Sanskrit on each step (most of our crew learned it from scratch in a few weeks using a tape I made), then dipping again after each recitation and going on to the next step above. It takes 24-30 hours to complete and you are wet and bone-cold most of the time despite how creatively you try to cover up between dips. By doing this you can wipe away the karma of 8.4 million lifetimes. That's a phenomenal release of old baggage. But the temptations to quit, to just drop out, hit everyone many times. Pain consumes your body and mind. Only the sound-current of the chanted prayer keeps you going. And the shared group energy was enormous. Five years ago my business partner, Hari Nam Singh, and I completed this ritual with only one other person with us. I knew how challenging it would be for these beautiful souls who had come with us. Shown above is the photo of our Phoenix group and two other sisters from among all those who "completed the job". Blessings and kudos to them all! And no one failed. Those few who had to drop out will return someday to finish the job. Now we all go on to the 85th step which is life - forever altered and more valuable then we may have known it before Goindwal. Because every day is another step. This is a life of success without failure. One step after another. One job done after another. We live in divine will. We succeed by divine will. I salute all of you, on whatever step you stand now. You always were wining, even when you didn't believe it. You always will be winners. Bless you in all ways always! |

To hear Sangeet's message, click on "RealAudio" or "WMA" above. "RealAudio" and "WMA" are different types of audio files. You can click on either one, it just depends on which sound player software your computer has. "RealAudio " requires a "RealOne" or "RealAudio" player (or compatible) and "WMA" requires a "Windows Media" player (or compatible). "RealAudio" tends to be a little more reliable and better sounding, while "WMA" (built into Windows) is more wide spread. You can't hurt anything by clicking on either one. If nothing happens or an error message pops up, then your computer doesn't have the appropriate software installed. If that is the case, you can get either one of the free players by clicking here. |
